Geckoboard collects your business information from many online services, summarises it to distill the key messages and displays it in a way that’s easy to understand and interpret.
Status board is composed of various widgets. Widgets are connected to different online services. Widgets can be different in size depending on the service (usually 230*230px or 470*470px).
The whole process of adding and configuring a widget consists of several steps:
1. Choosing online service for the widget (and size of the widget).
2. Connecting widget to the service (usually with API key or OAuth).
3. After succesfull connection user can configure what metrics will be displayed.
4. Final step is finding a good place for the widget on the status board.
Users can drag and drop widgets creating optimal structure. In addition, status board can be configured to display on 3,4,5,6,7 or 8 widgets in one row. This is a very useful function and makes status board perfect for small iPhone/iPad screen and for big
Information is refreshed every 2-15 minutes depending on the service.
Currently users can add and confugure widgets for the following services: Basecamp, ChartBeat, Email, Get Satisfaction, Google Analytics, Highrise, MailChimp, Pingdom Prefinery, Twitter, and Zendesk. There is also very useful text widget for custom alerts and messages and clock widget.
